We are seeking a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Breakfast and After School Club Assistant to join our team at Sparhawk Infant School for 4-7 year olds. This role will help provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment for our pupils beyond the school day. The play assistant will be responsible for leading play-based activities and supporting with the provision of a healthy breakfast or after-school snack. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with children, is proactive, and thrives in a busy, hands on setting. Hours of work, 7.30 – 8.30am and 3.00 – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (job share possible). This role may be suitable for a young worker (age 16+) currently studying a childcare course. The successful candidate will:  Enjoy facilitating play-based activities and engaging with the children.  Help children feel safe, happy and included. Work well as part of a team. Be reliable, punctual and organised. Ensure the children have a nourishing, balanced light meal, and support the preparation of this.  Be able to establish positive and supportive relationships with children, parents and colleagues Hold, or be working towards, an NVQ level 2 in childcare or equivalent or have relevant experience.  Be willing to undertake additional training for example in Food and Hygiene, First Aid and Safeguarding  In return we can offer:  Opportunities to develop skills and access appropriate training  A supportive and skilled staff team  A purposeful and well-maintained working environment  A rewarding role where every day makes a difference to children.
