About the role

This is a permanent, non class based post for two days per week (days negotiable). As Inclusion Lead, you will be a key leader within the school, shaping inclusive practice and championing the needs of pupils with SEND. You will: • Provide clear, confident leadership of SEND across the school • Lead and support staff who work flexibly with pupils to meet children's needs • Build strong, trusting partnerships with parents, staff and external professionals • Use your expertise to influence high quality teaching and inclusive practice for all learners • Contribute strategically to school development as part of the Senior Leadership Team Although Harvey Road is a successful school, we remain reflective and ambitious. Qualifications and training • Qualified Teacher Status • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) • Evidence of continued professional development in SEND Experience • Successful teaching experience, including working with pupils with SEND • Experience of working collaboratively with colleagues, families and external agencies • Experience of leading, coordinating or influencing an area of school provision • Experience of leading inclusive provision across a school Skills and knowledge • Secure knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation • Strong assessment skills and the ability to implement and evaluate effective interventions • Confident, empathetic communication with adults and children • Excellent organisation and record keeping • The ability to motivate, guide and support colleagues in inclusive practice You will be a reflective and caring leader who: • Holds high expectations for every child and believes deeply in inclusive education • Leads with warmth, integrity and professionalism • Works calmly and effectively in a busy school environment • Values confidentiality and trust • Is committed to continual learning and professional growth • Actively promotes equality, diversity and inclusion
