We are seeking to appoint a skilled, proactive and customer-focused Senior IT Technician to join our school IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys solving problems, supporting staff and students, and helping to develop reliable, secure and effective IT systems across a busy school environment. Working closely with the Network Manager, you will help maintain and develop the school and Trust IT networks, systems, hardware and software. You will provide technical support to curriculum and administrative users, support classroom IT, assist with the school website and online services, and act in a technical capacity on behalf of the Network Manager when required. The role will include first and second-line support, network monitoring, user account administration, hardware and software maintenance, support for servers, backups, antivirus and security systems, and involvement in new IT projects. You will also provide occasional onsite support to local schools and assist with audio-visual support for school events. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, suppliers and external providers. You will be well organised, able to prioritise your workload, and committed to delivering a high-quality IT service. Applicants should have an NVQ Level 3 or 4, equivalent qualification, or relevant experience in an IT support environment. A good standard of literacy and numeracy is required, including GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths. A current valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle are desirable.
