Head of School (Part-Time, Job Share) - Avalon School Leadership Scale L11-L17 (pro rata) | 2 days per week Avalon School, part of the Bower Learning Partnership, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced leader to join us as a part-time Head of School (2 days per week). This role operates within a job share model, working alongside an existing Head of School (3 days per week) to provide strong, consistent leadership across the school. This role would be a perfect secondment opportunity for someone currently in a senior leadership position who is driven and passionate about their own professional development and provides an ideal opportunity for professional development. This is a non-teaching role with a clear focus on teaching and learning, safeguarding and curriculum design. You will play a key role in leading the school day to day, developing high-quality provision and driving school improvement, while contributing to the wider leadership of the partnership. Avalon is a nurturing special school for secondary-aged pupils with EHCPs, where we are committed to our vision of ‘Learning for Life’—supporting pupils to develop the skills, confidence and independence they need for adulthood.
