About the Role As a Site Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the academy site. Working closely with the Site Manager, you will help ensure that the buildings and grounds are safe, secure, well-maintained and ready for use each day. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. Responsibilities include opening and closing the site, carrying out routine maintenance and repairs, monitoring heating systems, and ensuring that all areas of the academy remain clean, safe and fit for purpose. You will also support with deliveries, porterage, lettings and out-of-hours activities, contributing to the smooth running of the academy. You will be part of a small, supportive site team and will be expected to take a proactive approach, using your initiative to identify and address issues as they arise. Hours of work: 7.4 hours per day, Monday to Friday. The successful applicant will work on a rota basis, which will include early mornings, evenings and occasional Saturdays, in line with the needs of the academy. Key Responsibilities Act as a keyholder, ensuring the site is opened, secured and alarms are operated appropriately Carry out routine maintenance, repairs and daily site checks, reporting any issues as required Maintain safe external areas, including pathways and playgrounds, and support with seasonal requirements such as frost protection Manage deliveries and undertake porterage duties across the site Monitor heating systems to ensure appropriate temperatures are maintained Support academy lettings, events and out-of-hours activities Act as a point of contact for staff, contractors and visitors in relation to site matters What We’re Looking For A reliable and responsible individual who understands the importance of site security Practical maintenance skills and a willingness to undertake a range of hands-on tasks A proactive approach, with the ability to identify and resolve issues or escalate where needed Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner A commitment to maintaining a safe environment, with an understanding of (or willingness to learn) health and safety requirements Why Join Us?
