Waking Night Student Support Assistant

Tuesday and Wednesday, 7.30pm to 7.30am We are looking for a caring, motivated and reliable Waking Night Student Support Assistant to join our residential education provision. In this role, you will help create a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for young people with special educational needs, ensuring their physical, emotional and social wellbeing throughout the night. You will play a key part in enabling students to feel secure, comfortable and able to develop their independence and reach their full potential. In this role you will: Support students during the evening and night, carrying out regular checks, monitoring for any signs of distress and keeping accurate records. Communicate effectively with students, staff and other departments to maintain high standards of care. Promote students’ intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development within the residential setting. Support personal care routines including washing, bathing, mealtime assistance, and morning/evening routines. The role will include a substantial amount of moving and handling children and young people. Follow and implement individual care plans, helping students work towards their independence goals. Use appropriate recording and reporting processes in line with organisational procedures. Carry out domestic duties such as laundry and cleaning to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. Adhere to moving and handling procedures and all health and safety and safeguarding practices. Work towards completing the Level 3 Residential Childcare Diploma, if applicable. Uphold school policies including safeguarding, equality, diversity, confidentiality and data protection Desirable: Experience in school or residential settings, GCSEs in English/Maths, Level 3 Diploma and knowledge of SEND.
