About the role

Cansfield High School are looking for a Design Technology Technician to join our Creatives faculty. Applicants will feel confident setting up, using and maintaining a range of workshop equipment and machinery, as well as supporting newer technologies like laser cutters, 3D printers and a variety of art processes. Day to day, you’ll be preparing materials and resources for lessons — including woods, metals and plastics — keeping machinery in good working order, and making sure supplies are topped up. Experience in a school environment would be really helpful, as you’ll be supporting both students and staff in the workshops, but it’s not essential. If you bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, we’ll provide full training. Our technicians play a huge part in creating a safe, inspiring space where students can experiment, design and build with confidence. If you’re organised, proactive and enjoy being part of a creative, hands‑on environment then we would love to hear from you. 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 2 weeks. If you would like further information about this role then please contact Mrs Helen Aspinall on 01942 727391 or by email - h.aspinall@cansfield.wigan.sch.uk Cansfield High School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All roles involve contact with children and are thus engaged in regulated activity relevant to children. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to references and online searches. Employment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
