Heathcote School is seeking a passionate, skilled, and visionary Teaching Assistant (TA3) to take on a pivotal leadership role in our evolving EYFS and Key Stage 1 SEND provision. Why This Role Matters As our EYFS and Key Stage 1 SEND Provision Lead , you will play a vital role in shaping the earliest and most formative stage of a child’s school journey. This is a truly transformational position, laying strong social, emotional, personal, and academic foundations that support children throughout their school life. Working with the SENDCo and EYFS Lead, you will lead and develop a nurturing provision tailored to the unique needs of our youngest learners. You’ll deliver targeted support aligned with EHCP outcomes, reduce reactive behaviour interventions, and ensure smooth, confident transitions between phases. We are committed to a “can-do” culture , focusing on children’s strengths and enabling them to spend time both within the provision and learning alongside their peers. This role is mirrored in Key Stage 2, making close collaboration with the KS2 Provision Lead an important and rewarding part of ensuring a seamless SEND experience across the school. Key Responsibilities Work with a child-centred approach , building a fostering strong relationships with our wonderful pupils. Lead and build on the existing EYFS and KS1 provision for targeted intervention, social and emotional development. Plan and deliver interventions for individuals and small groups, directly linked to EHCP outcomes. Support the whole school SEND strategy by establishing strong foundations in EYFS/KS1 that are built on within our KS2 provision, with the ultimate goal to prepare children for their next stage of education. Coach and mentor support staff , delivering modular CPD and modelling best practice. Work closely with the SENDCO to ensure consistency, quality, and strategic alignment. Lead dysregulation support, reducing the need for senior leader intervention. Promote safe transitions and minimise disruption across phases. Contribute to whole-school SEND strategy , policy development, and specialist deployment. Build expertise in areas such as dysregulation and pre-verbal communication. Support families through home visits and collaborative planning. Coordinate whole-school programmes, policies, and activities that enhance SEND provision. Provide curriculum support, applying specialist knowledge to support teaching and learning
