Dorridge Primary School, a large three form entry, community Primary school, would like to appoint a Teaching and Learning Support Assistant to join their SEND team. We are seeking a calm, compassionate and resilient 1:1 Teaching & Learning Support Assistant to work with a KS2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a pupil to access learning, regulate emotions, build confidence and develop positive relationships, working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team. Contract Type: Fixed Term (this role is attached to a specific child and will end when the child leaves the school) Hours of Work: 10 hours per week, across Monday - Friday, 1:30pm - 3:30pm Main duties and responsibilities (a full Job Description and Person Specification are available): To supervise the activities of the child inside and outside the classroom To provide care, attend to the childβs personal needs and undertake activities necessary to meet the physical, emotional and educational requirements of individual child. This will require knowledge of a range of strategies and a high level of skills developed through experience, with regular supervision from teaching staff as and when required To liaise with other professionals to support the needs of the child To work closely with teachers, as part of the Year Group team, to plan appropriately differentiated activities for the child.
