The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic third in english to join our dedicated team at Lord Derby Academy The core purpose of the role will be to drive the school forward as we continue to accelerate progress in all key areas through our high standards and expectations. The successful candidate must have Qualified Teacher Status. Teaching and Learning Responsibility: Main responsibilities include supporting the head and deputy head of faculty in assuming overall responsibility for English, managing and securing a high quality of education in year 7 English. Please refer to the TLR2B Job Description document. Key responsibilities: To plan and deliver engaging English lessons at both Key Stage 3 and 4, ensuring that the learning experience for all pupils is well matched to their educational needs. ● To set high expectations for pupils’ behaviour, establishing and maintaining an excellent standard of discipline through focused teaching and through positive and inclusive relationships. ● To create a stimulating learning environment for teaching and learning, using a variety of teaching methods which are appropriate to pupils’ needs and to the requirements of the curriculum. ● To make effective use of assessment information and analysis to inform planning to maximise pupils’ progress. ● To mark and monitor pupils’ classwork and homework, providing constructive oral and written feedback and setting appropriate targets to maximise pupils’ progress.
