Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a range of addition needs, including autism (ASD) and helping them to achieve their full potential in our nurturing learning provision. The successful candidate will have prior experience working with pupils who require additional support and will play a key role in adapting learning activities, promoting independence and providing tailored one-to-one and small group support. The successful applicant will Have a firm commitment to the Catholic Ethos of the school; Be an excellent Teaching Assistant with an ability to raise the attainment of all children Be energetic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant, with SEND EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2 experience; Ideally have experience or training in alternative communication methods such as Makaton or PECS - or be eager and willing to learn; Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and can demonstrate effective teamwork/collaboration as part of a close hard working team; Have experience of, or a strong interest in, working with pupils with a range of additional needs. Be adaptable, proactive and patient, with a calm and positive approach to challenges. Demonstrate a caring and nurturing attitude, creating a safe and supportive learning environment Be open to assisting with personal care when required, ensuring the highest standards of respect and dignity. Have the ability to form positive relationships with children, parents, staff and external agencies; Be committed to keeping our children safe; Be fully involved in the wider life of the school.
