About Egremont Primary School Two-form entry academy with around 270 pupils on roll and three specialist SEMH bases. We serve an urban community with high levels of deprivation and SEND need (FSM6 65%; SEN support 27%; EHC plans 12.8%). Part of Oak Trees MAT. About the role As a class teacher you will: Teach high-quality, well-sequenced lessons that raise attainment in literacy and secure foundational knowledge across the curriculum. Plan and deliver adaptive teaching and scaffolded tasks so all pupils—including disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND—make strong progress. Lead targeted small-group interventions to accelerate progress for disadvantaged pupils and those in our SEMH bases. Use assessment information to check learning, identify when pupils are ready to deepen knowledge, and adapt future teaching accordingly. Maintain high expectations for behaviour; implement school behaviour strategies and support pupils’ social, emotional and mental health needs sensitively. Work closely with colleagues, parents, multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies to support pupils’ progress and well‑being. Contribute to whole-school priorities: literacy improvement, curriculum depth, EYFS transition, character education and pupil leadership. Participate in staff development and Trust-wide professional networks to continually refine practice. About you — the qualities we are seeking You will be someone who: Holds QTS (or equivalent) and has recent primary classroom teaching experience — or is working towards QTS (for example: trainee teacher, School Direct, SCITT, postgraduate trainee, or an ECT about to start their ECT year). We welcome applicants at different stages of qualification and will provide appropriate induction and support during the contract.
