Required from September 2026
HTC
would like to invite applications from dynamic, enthusiastic, and committed
teachers to join a strong, supportive, and forward-thinking department. This post will contribute to the delivery of
the RSL and Sociology curriculum at KS3 and KS4, ensuring high-quality teaching
and positive outcomes for all students. In addition, the successful candidate
will play a key role in supporting students’ personal development through
contributions to tutor time, assemblies, careers education, and relationships,
sex and health education.
The
successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high standards in the
classroom, a willingness to develop their practice, and the drive to achieve
excellent outcomes for all students. They will work collaboratively with the
Subject Leader and wider team to support the ongoing development of teaching,
learning, and curriculum provision.
Applicants
should have a strong interest in curriculum delivery and a passion for engaging
students in Religion, Society and Life and/or Sociology. We are informed by the Hampshire Living
Difference IV Religious Education Locally Agreed Syllabus at KS3, and offer the
AQA GCSE Religious Studies A (focusing on Christianity and Buddhism) and the
Eduqas GCSE Sociology course at KS4. We
are a very popular GCSE choice, and students enjoy their studies and the skills
and knowledge that they develop with us. The department encourages innovative and
engaging methods of teaching and learning and is always looking for ways to
develop practice and provision.
HTC
is committed to providing the highest quality of learning for all students in
every lesson and fully supports staff through induction and professional
development. We also offer an exceptionally strong Early Career Teacher (ECT)
programme, with dedicated mentoring, regular instructional coaching, reduced
timetable, and a carefully sequenced training programme to support teachers at
the start of their career. ECTs benefit from a highly supportive departmental
and whole-school culture, ensuring they are able to develop confidence, refine
their practice, and thrive as effective classroom practitioners.
We
have an OFSTED rating of outstanding and good (November2024). HTC is
described as a ‘college where students’ academic achievements and their
personal development is extremely strong’. Ofsted highlighted the personalised
education and innovative curriculum, the calm atmosphere, and the well-behaved
students who are highly respectful and have positive attitudes to learning.
