About the role

Springwood HIgh School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic art and photography teacher to our artdepartment. The successful candidate would join a team of dedicated and ambitious teachers, focussed on continuing to grow the subjects both within and outside of the curriculum. Start Date - 01 Sept 2026 Salary - MPS/UPS as appropriate Full time, or part-time minimum 70% Permanent Email: recruitment@westnorfolkacademiestrust.co.uk Website: https://www.springwoodhighschool.co.uk/ Purpose of the job Springwood High School has a strong foundation of art and photography tuition, with both subjects being popular subjects at both key stage 4 and 5. We regularly have work appearing in local competitions and galleries. The department and students will also be involved in scenery work for school productions.   Art is taught from key stage 3 to A level, while photography is taught in key stage 4 and 5. The A level subjects attract students from across West Norfolk and beyond. We have 3 art classrooms, plus an additional computer-based photography room, all dedicated to the department. In addition to this we have a photography studio and dark room to allow students to develop film too.   The successful candidate should be able, or willing, to teach across the age and ability range from key stage 3 to key stage 5. It is expected that the successful candidate will be capable of teaching photography using Photoshop. Responsibilities, but not limited too:   ·        To meet all requirements of the Teachers’ Standards. ·         Within the designated curriculum area, to implement, deliver and contribute to the published scheme of work. ·        To shape the learning experience to motivate and encourage students to achieve their full potential. ·        To monitor the progress of students and provide support to ensure personal and academic growth. Teaching and Learning Responsibilities   ·        To deliver the designated programme of teaching as presented in the published scheme of work. ·        To use a variety of delivery methods to stimulate learning, appropriate to student abilities. ·        To prepare and update subject materials. ·        To ensure a high quality learning experience for students that meets internal and external quality standards. ·        Within the guidance presented in the school Assessment Policy and using appropriate I.T. systems, to assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students. ·&nbsp
