We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of History to join our strong and forward-thinking department at The Priory School, Hitchin (TPSH). We believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and we are looking for a practitioner who is passionate about History and wants all students to enjoy the subject. History is taught for all levels and abilities from Year 7 to Year 13 at TPSH. We ensure chronological, and conceptual breadth alongside a knowledge-rich curriculum which is underpinned by enquiry questions. We are a popular subject at Key Stage 4 and support students to become enthusiastic about History. The History Department is ambitious, undertaking successful domestic and foreign trips. Colleagues within the History department enjoy maintaining their disciplinary rigour with some colleagues having work published in the Historical Association’s ‘Historian’ magazine. This role will suit an enthusiastic and outstanding practitioner who wishes to share their expertise and make a difference. As a proud member of the Hitchin Sixth Form Consortium (alongside Hitchin Girls’ School and Hitchin Boys’ School), we offer a vibrant KS5 experience. The successful candidate may have the opportunity to teach Sixth Form (A-Level) History, working with our dedicated and hard-working Year 12 and 13 students.
