Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality French lessons with clear objectives and engaging teaching methods. Establish and maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management. Use assessment for learning to monitor and support student progress effectively. Inspire trust and confidence in students and colleagues, fostering a positive learning environment. Contribute to the school’s policies, aspirations, and School Improvement Plan. Prepare students for public examinations and ensure attainment meets or exceeds expectations. Participate in the school’s appraisal system and engage in professional development opportunities. Support the personal and social development of students, promoting healthy living, personal safety, and active citizenship. Requirements Essential: Graduate with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE. Experience of successful teaching, evidenced by adding value to student achievement. Thorough knowledge of the French curriculum, including examination syllabus requirements at KS4 and KS5. Strong classroom practice, behaviour management strategies, and the ability to motivate students. Commitment to safeguarding the welfare of young people (enhanced DBS disclosure required). Desirable: Experience of teaching French at A Level. Evidence of appropriate professional development. Understanding of how ICT can enhance learning.
