John
Hanson Community School is seeking to appoint an ambitious, compassionate and
highly skilled Primary or Specialist SEND Teacher to join our inclusive
secondary school community.
This is
an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner with experience in primary
education, SEND and intervention-based teaching to play a key role in
supporting vulnerable learners across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful
candidate will lead and deliver bespoke intervention programmes for pupils
requiring additional academic, emotional and transition support, including
pupils with SEND, literacy and numeracy gaps, SEMH needs and those requiring a
more personalised curriculum approach.

looking for someone who:
Has a strong understanding
of teaching and learning pedagogy and adaptive teaching
Can confidently adapt KS3 curriculum and develop core
knowledge and skills
Is passionate about
inclusion and removing barriers to learning
Can build strong
relationships with pupils, families and external agencies
Has experience supporting
pupils with SEND
Can support successful
transition from primary to secondary education
This role

pastoral and SEND team.

Reporting to: Assistant Headteacher - SENDCo
The
Primary Specialist Teacher will lead and deliver high-quality bespoke
intervention and personalised learning programmes for pupils who require
additional support to access the secondary curriculum successfully.
The role
will focus on:
Closing gaps in literacy and
numeracy
Supporting pupils with SEND
and SEMH needs
Delivering targeted
intervention programmes
Supporting transition from
Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3
Developing inclusive
approaches that improve engagement, attendance and outcomes
Supporting pupils who
require alternative or adapted curriculum pathways
Duties and Responsibilities:
Bespoke Intervention and Inclusion
Plan and deliver
personalised intervention programmes tailored to individual pupil needs
Support pupils with
literacy, numeracy, communication and social development needs
Deliver small group and 1:1
intervention sessions
Adapt teaching approaches to
support pupils with SEND
Develop strategies that
enable pupils to successfully access mainstream lessons
Work closely with pastoral,
safeguarding and SEND teams to provide holistic support for pupils
Support emotionally based
