Job Title: KS2 Trained Teacher Employment Status: Permanent Working Hours: All year round, 1.0 FTE Actual Salary: TMS Required: September 2026 Location: Blue Coat C of E School, Coventry About the role We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and skilled KS2-trained primary practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team. This role is focused on delivering high-quality, bespoke literacy intervention for Key Stage 3 pupils. Initially, you will work with Year 7 and Year 8 students whose reading ages are below their chronological age, planning and delivering targeted programmes in reading, writing, literacy and oracy. You will play a key role in accelerating progress, closing gaps, and building pupils’ confidence and independence as learners. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure that intervention is sharply aligned with the wider curriculum, promoting a culture of aspiration, inclusion and achievement. We are looking for someone who: Has Qualified Teacher Status, with strong experience in KS2 teaching Has a proven track record of delivering high-quality reading, writing, literacy and oracy provision in a primary setting Has experience of using assessment to diagnose need and plan targeted intervention to accelerate progress Can design and deliver engaging, structured literacy programmes for pupils working below age-related expectations Is skilled in promoting positive behaviour for learning and raising standards Has a clear commitment to inclusion, with a genuine belief that all pupils can succeed Values and celebrates the diversity of school communities All staff are expected to know what to do if they have concerns about a child, take on the responsibility for providing a safe environment and promoting children’s welfare, undertake regular safeguarding and child protection training and, familiarise themselves with KCSIE part 1 and local policies and procedures as directed by the trust/academy. About us Blue Coat is a successful and oversubscribed school in the heart of the city of Coventry.
