Berwick St Mary's Church of England Primary School Β· Berwick-upon-Tweed, North East
St Maryβs has expanded greatly over the last 12 months, becoming a primary school with a new integrated special school provision, The Tweed, which opened in January 2026. As part of this expansion, St Maryβs has been fully refurbished, with the school now enjoying a new purpose-built learning environment both internally and externally. Working within the Key Stage 2 mainstream and providing partial PPA/leadership cover across the mainstream classes within the Federation of St Mary's and Norham Primary, the successful candidate will build upon the current successes, promoting an inclusive learning environment within our new provisions, designed to support learning across all areas and for all children. The role requires a teacher who is hard-working, passionate, and committed to supporting all children to achieve their potential. We seek a teacher who children will remember and be inspired by long after they have left our school. As part of the Tweed Learning Federation of schools, we remain committed to serving our individual communities. However, we benefit from sharing resources and support across the schools, allowing us to meet the needs of the children more effectively and efficiently. This collaboration enables staff to benefit from the shared practice of a large group of committed and enthusiastic colleagues. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated. They will: Work closely with all members of our team to ensure the very best outcomes for every pupil. Have high expectations for all children, regardless of their needs. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, governors, and staff. Be fully involved in the life of our school. We are fortunate to have a dynamic staff team that supports and leads each other in the development of the whole school, making a valued contribution to all aspects of school life. We never use the word βteamβ lightly; being a team means having shared aims and doing things for each other, together and individually, to ensure the best for everyone. If you are a dedicated educator looking to make a difference in the lives of children and contribute to a thriving school community, we would love to hear from you.
