Polam Hall School - Darlington Cover Supervisor Post is term time only 36 hrs per week, Monday - Friday Posted : 12th May 2026 Closing date: 7th June 2026 Interviews held w/c: 15th June 2026 Salary: £22,272 Grade E (FTE £27,694) with progression Hours: 36 hrs per week Monday - Friday 08:30hrs - 16:00hrs ( plus 1 hr CPD) Polam Hall School wishes to appoint enthusiastic and experienced individuals to the following post: Cover Supervisor ( 2 posts) To supervise the classroom for the provision of teaching in both primary and secondary phases of the school, for whole classes and select groups. To cover tutor time in the absence of a scheduled teacher. Assist teachers/SEND Team and act as part of the classroom support team when required. Assist with trips or off-site activities. Break and gate duties as and when required. Successful Applicant The successful applicant will have experience of managing pupils in a classroom based setting; have strong behaviour management skills and a good overview of teaching and learning. Be highly motivated and able to swap between age groups, abilities, needs and subject matter with ease. We have 850 pupils on roll, with one and a half forms of entry in our Primary Phase and four forms in our Secondary Phase.
