About the Role Streatham Wells Primary is an exceptional one-form entry school in between Streatham Hill and Tulse Hill. We are a small, friendly and caring school where everyone is committed to providing the very best learning opportunities for our children. At Streatham Wells we believe in growing hearts and minds. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our team in September 2026. We can offer a wonderful team, committed fully to developing the hearts and minds of our staff as well as our children. We warmly welcome visits to the school and to meet with the Headteacher prior to applying. Main purpose The TA will: Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement ‍ What skills and experience we're looking for Essential Skills & Attributes Strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills Excellent organisation, communication and active listening skills Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and adults Good understanding of child development, SEND, and inclusive practice Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and commitment to child wellbeing Understanding of effective teaching methods and curriculum frameworks Ability to adapt support to meet individual learning needs Calm, resilient and positive, even in challenging situations Enjoys working with children and is motivated to help them succeed Committed to confidentiality, equality and anti‑discriminatory practice Enthusiastic, reflective and aligned with the school’s ethos and values
