Teacher of Humanities Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent Salary: Teacher Main Scale 1 to UPS 3 (£32,916 - £51,048) Closing Date: 9:00am on Tuesday 19th May 2026 About the Role Beamont Collegiate Academy is seeking a highly motivated and inspirational Teacher of Humanities to join our vibrant and high-performing academy. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a strong department within a popular and oversubscribed 11-16 academy, judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in July 2022. The role involves teaching Humanities at KS3 and KS4, and is suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced educators. This full-time, permanent position (with the option for part-time hours) is ideal for a candidate with drive, passion, and a commitment to excellence. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting high achievement and supporting students to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Humanities across KS3 and KS4. Set high expectations for student achievement, behaviour, and engagement. Plan and teach well-structured lessons that inspire intellectual curiosity and foster a love of learning. Use data to monitor student progress, inform planning, and implement effective interventions. Promote good progress and outcomes by guiding students to reflect on their learning and development. Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and productive learning environment. Contribute to the development of engaging curriculum resources and schemes of work. Participate in the wider life of the academy, including extra-curricular activities. Requirements A good degree from a recognised university and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Strong subject knowledge in Humanities and up-to-date curriculum expertise. Proven ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication and organisational skills. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Flexibility, enthusiasm, and a readiness to respond to individual student needs.
