We are looking for a high-quality LSA to join our school family and live out our vision to see our children flourish, our culture transformed, and our community thrive. St John's & St Peter's is a one-form entry primary school of 210 pupils and is part of the Fioretti Trust. It has good bus and rail connections and is located within a 10-minute walk of Birmingham City Centre. This post is primarily classroom-based, supporting pupils with additional needs alongside the class teacher. You'll be a key part of the classroom team, helping lessons run smoothly and ensuring pupils with additional needs can access learning and make progress. Day to day, you'll be: Supporting pupils in class during lessons, keeping them on task and engaged Working with small groups or individual pupils when targeted support is needed Providing learning breaks for pupils who need them, helping them regulate and re-engage Reading with pupils and supporting the development of early literacy skills Giving regular feedback to the class teacher on how pupils are responding to activities and tasks Assisting with day-to-day classroom admin, including preparing resources, producing worksheets and maintaining pupil records Supporting pupils with routines and transitions throughout the school day Contributing to individual Education Plans and annual reviews Liaising with parents and external professionals as appropriate, under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo You don't need to be a specialist SEND practitioner for this role, but previous experience supporting children with additional needs in a classroom setting is advised.
