About the role

The Role This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting children with SEND, working closely with our leadership team and dedicated SEN team. As SENDCO, you will help shape inclusive practice across the school, ensuring every child receives the support they need to flourish. Key Responsibilities: Observe children across the school and collaborate with teachers to identify needs and develop tailored strategies, ensuring every child has the best chance to succeed. Support all school staff in using the graduated response to ensure all children with SEN needs have appropriate support at all times following a process of assess, plan, do, review. Deliver and organise SEN CPD based on the needs of the staff. Oversee learning plans and provision using Provision Mapper software, supporting staff to ensure targets are SMART and interventions are evidence informed and regularly reviewed. Build strong partnerships with colleagues and external agencies, making timely referrals (including EHCPNA) to secure the right support for our pupils. Lead and coordinate EHCP annual reviews, working closely with families and staff to ensure all voices are heard and paperwork is completed with care and accuracy in a timely way. Support the development of our recently established SEN Mainstream + class including teaching and learning, assessment and behaviour management. Work closely with parents, carers and other stakeholders to ensure concerns are addressed in a timely way and communication is open and effective.

The person We are looking for a compassionate, proactive educator who shares our commitment to inclusion and community. You will be joining a team that values collaboration, empathy, and a shared sense of purpose. We’re Looking For: A skilled teacher with experience supporting children with a wide range of SEND needs, ready to bring their knowledge and creativity to our school. Someone who is highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and keep on top of essential paperwork with attention to detail. A true team player who enjoys working alongside colleagues, offering support, feedback, and encouragement to help everyone grow. Someone who is approachable and able to engage with families from a range of backgrounds and communicate and work effectively with them to ensure their children’s needs are met. A professional with experience of EHCP applications and annual reviews, who communicates effectively and builds positive relationships with parents and carers. Someone who holds (or is willing to work towards) SENQUAL or NPQSEN, and you will embody our school values in all that you do. Please note, this role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers.

For further information or to arrange an informal visit, please contact the school directly (01752 843561) to make an appointment or email head@ssscp.org.uk.
