Job Title:  Inclusion Support Officer

Actual Annual Salary: £27,362 - £29,850 (Based on hours and weeks worked)

Full Time Equivalent Salary:  £31,954 - £34,860 (CLF Grade D) Based on full time hours, all year round.

Contract Type:  Permanent

Hours:  37 hours per week - Full Time, Term Time Only plus Inset days

Tewkesbury Academy is seeking a caring, proactive and resilient Inclusion Support Officer to join our Inclusion Team. You will play a central role in supporting vulnerable learners, promoting high expectations and ensuring students receive the right help to regulate their behaviour, re‑engage with learning and make sustained progress. You will help run the Reflection Room and Ready to Return Room, creating calm, purposeful spaces where students can regulate, reflect and reintegrate into lessons. You will also provide targeted mentoring, behaviour support and interventions to help students manage emotions, build positive relationships and improve learning behaviours. Working with the Inclusion Lead, SENCO, pastoral staff, teachers and external professionals, you will monitor progress, support academic and social development, and contribute to a safe, inclusive environment where all students feel respected and able to succeed. You will:

Support the day‑to‑day running of the Reflection Room and Ready to Return Room, ensuring clear routines, calm environments and purposeful reintegration processes.

Work 1:1 and in small groups with identified students to support behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning.

Develop and deliver targeted mentoring, intervention and personalised action plans for students with high behaviour or inclusion needs.

Liaise closely with the Inclusion Lead, SENCO and pastoral staff to ensure consistent support and effective communication regarding student needs and progress.

Monitor and track the progress of students on your caseload, sharing updates with teachers, leaders, parents/carers and external agencies where appropriate.

Support the resolution of behaviour incidents, facilitating restorative conversations and de‑escalating situations calmly and professionally.

Contribute to improving attendance, behaviour and engagement by identifying barriers to learning and implementing appropriate strategies.

Support students on reduced timetables, those reintegrating after absence or exclusion, and those disengaged from the mainstream cl
