Yardleys is a thriving, vibrant and heavily oversubscribed 11-16 multi-ethnic stand-along academy in Birmingham, with 931 students on roll. The diversity of the school population reflects the rich, cultural mix of the local area. The school is highly focused on raising standards of pupil achievement through a broad and balanced curriculum and students make excellent progress. The History department sits within the Humanities Faculty and has a well-established supportive team, who are all subject specialists and are committed to ensuring that our students continue to make excellent progress. History is a very popular subject in the School, especially at key stage 4. We wish to appoint an ambitious, creative and dynamic leader who is enthusiastic about developing the curriculum. Students study a wide range of topics in a three-year KS3 and OCR GCSE History for GCSE.
