About the Role As a level 3 EYFS Learning Support Assistant, you will play an active role in supporting high quality teaching and learning within the Foundation Stage Unit. You will contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of engaging, child-initiated learning experiences that support children in achieving the Early Learning Goals. You will take responsibility for leading targeted activities and intervention groups, including daily phonics teaching, using assessment information to support pupil progress and close gaps in learning. Working closely with the EYFS Lead and wider team, you will use your professional judgement to observe, assess and adapt provision to meet the developmental needs of all learners. The role requires a proactive and reflective practitioner who can create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment. You will support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development, using the Thrive Approach to promote wellbeing and positive engagement. You will also contribute to the planning and implementation of support for pupils with SEND, working collaboratively with the SEND team and external professionals where required. About You The successful candidate will have previous practical experience of working within a Foundation Stage Unit within a school setting. Candidates will also be educated to GCSE standard pass rates with a minimum of a Level 3 relevant qualification. You will demonstrate a secure understanding of the EYFS framework and early years pedagogy, including how to plan and adapt continuous and enhanced provision to meet children’s developmental needs, and be confident in applying this to support high-quality teaching and learning. A strong understanding of synthetic phonics is essential, alongside experience of delivering targeted interventions. You will be a proactive and reflective practitioner, able to work independently using initiative while also contributing effectively as part of a team. You will have the ability to assess pupil needs, adapt provision and implement strategies that support progress and development. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
