We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, who is a qualified SENCO, to join our Senior Management Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate leader to play a key role in shaping inclusive practice across the school while continuing to work directly with children in the classroom. About the Role As Assistant Headteacher - Inclusion, you will: Be a member of the Senior Management Team, working alongside two Assistant Headteachers, the Deputy Headteacher and the Headteacher. Provide strategic leadership for Inclusion and SEND, ensuring excellent provision and outcomes for pupils with additional needs. Lead and manage the SEND team, including the SENDCO, supporting staff development, practice and wellbeing. Lead and managing a year group team. Fulfil the statutory duties in line with the SEND Code of Practice. Lead phonics across the school, supporting staff, monitoring impact and securing consistently high standards. Teach for 3.25 days per week initially in KS1 modelling inclusive, high-quality classroom practice. Have 1.75 days per week for leadership, management and PPA time. What We Are Looking For We are seeking a leader who: Holds Qualified Teacher Status and is a qualified SENCO (or willing to complete the qualification). Has a strong understanding of inclusive education and SEND provision. Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils. Has experience of leading, supporting and motivating staff. Has a clear understanding of early reading and phonics and their importance for all learners.
