We are looking for a Class based Teaching Assistant with experience of working with High Needs SEN children , to join our amazing team. The successful candidate will ensure that children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. We have great facilities and are committed to delivering a creative, engaging curriculum. Hours of work 08.30-12.15 or a full day, Monday to Friday, we could be flexible for the right candidate. You will contribute to all aspects of pupilsโ well-being and achievement, working alongside teaching staff, to provide mentoring for specific pupils. The underpinning value of the work is to ensure that every pupil achieves their potential through the provision of targeted support and intervention. General Responsibilities. The post holder will: Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils and young people Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team and SENCo to ensure pupils who are identified as being in need of support receive appropriate help. Assisting and supporting pupils during learning sessions and lunchtimes, this will involve; managing pupil behaviour, lunchtime activities. Support learners with pastoral and behavioural challenges particularly relating to Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Work alongside teachers and other support teams to break down barriers and ensure that learners are able to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. Focus on and develop positive behaviour in and outside the classroom Take part in any relevant meetings to assist with pupil welfare e.g. review meetings with parents/carers and external agencies. What youโll need: Previous experience in supporting pupils especially SEN children with high level needs Have successful recent experience as a Teaching Assistant A sound understanding of the range of issues facing pupils with barriers to their learning (including social, emotional and behavioural) Demonstratable knowledge and understanding of effective behaviour management strategies and the ability to put these into practice Experience of devising strategies to support children.
