The Job: Pleckgate High School seek to appoint a Humanities Teacher on a part time (0.6), permanent basis from September 2026. The pro rata salary will be Β£19,749.60 to Β£30,628.80 per annum. What does this job do? To deliver engaging history and geography lessons across both key stages within humanities. To teach the subject curriculum successfully to help pupils to develop well developed knowledge and skills. To work with the department in offering a range of extracurricular activities for pupils involving history and/or geography To teach history and geography lessons at KS3 and either history or geography, ( depending on subject specialism) at KS4 To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate. To monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils as a teacher/form tutor. To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential. To contribute to raising standards of student attainment. What are the job requirements? Qualified to degree level in a Humanities based subject or adequate post degree conversion course. Qualified teacher status. Ability to deliver high-quality lessons in history or geography to pupils of all ages and abilities. Experience of teaching history and geography at KS3 and either history or geography at KS4 and securing good outcomes. Knowledge of requirements of the history and geography curriculum at KS3 and developments and initiatives relating to the subject and its implications for pupils.
