committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young
people To plan
appropriate learning for all children, monitoring progress and intervening when
there is underperformance. To
create a high quality, rich, stimulating and enabling learning environment. To work

manage the learning environment, resources and time to ensure effective

a detailed professional knowledge of the curriculum including an understanding
of the progression of learning and development and national testing. To
accurately assess children’s development and to help create a successful
framework for assessment. To work
effectively with TAs and other colleagues who support children in their

establish positive relationships with parents/carers, ensuring parental

the post. Specific to KS4 Lead for Science (in addition to your
responsibilities as a teacher) Specific
to Role Support the Head of Department in taking responsibility for the
overall performance in KS4. Implement a KS4 curriculum that excites students about science,
that goes beyond the National Curriculum requirements, is purposeful for
achieving excellent outcomes and is relevant to the MCA community. Develop and use effective formative and summative assessments that
support future learning and provide meaningful data. Support the CEIAG agenda to develop a knowledge, understanding and
interest in pathways and careers linked to study in science. Create a rich and exciting extended schools offer to further
student engagement in science and prepare students for further study. Contribute to evaluating the progress made in achieving subject
targets and evaluate the impact of teaching and learning. Scrutinise data to identify underperformance and lead on
strategies to address any issues arising. Provide guidance on appropriate teaching and learning methods, and
