Working hours: 30 hours per week Monday to Friday; Job shares will be considered. Working pattern to be agreed with successful candidate Salary: Surrey PS6 (covering point 2-6) - New entrants are expected to join on the minimum of the pay band.  Dependent on candidate experience. PS 6/2 FTE Β£30,647; actual annual salary for 30 hours Β£21,390 Package: Term Time only, Permanent. We are on the hunt for a brilliant Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our specialist team at Chandlers Field Primary Academy. As an HLTA within our ASD Centre, you won't just be supportingβ€”you'll be leading. You will complement the professional work of our teachers and SENDCo by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities, which includes planning, preparing, and delivering lessons for individuals, groups, or even whole classes.

What you will be doing:

Leading Learning: Within an agreed system of supervision, you will teach whole classes, motivate pupils with structured activities, and provide detailed feedback to teachers and parents.

Planning & Resourcing:  You'll work with teachers to plan lessons, develop resources, and adjust work plans to meet the diverse needs of our pupils.

Supporting Needs: You will champion inclusion, supporting pupils with SEND strategies, and ensuring every child has equal access to opportunities.

Mentoring: You will help guide and mentor less experienced teaching assistants, sharing your expertise to build a stronger team.

What you will bring:

Experience & Qualifications: You must meet HLTA standards (or equivalent) and have experience working with children in an education setting.

Skills: Excellent communication skills, sound IT knowledge, and a solid understanding of behaviour management strategies are essential.

Attitude: We are looking for someone with a "can-do" attitude who can use their own initiative, work flexibly, and build strong professional relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Commitment:  A genuine empathy with young people facing barriers to learning and a commitment to helping them achieve through adapted education.
