About the role

Westvale Park Primary Academy is looking to recruit a passionate, resilient and skilled Qualified Teacher to lead out Internal Alternative Provision (Specialist Provision) on a permanent basis. This is a unique opportunity to shape and deliver high‑quality, inclusive education for pupils with SEND, making a genuine difference to their academic progress, behaviour and well‑being. The successful candidate will lead daily provision, deliver adaptive and engaging teaching, and work closely with the SENCO, senior leaders, families and external agencies to ensure pupils thrive and are prepared for successful reintegration or next‑stage pathways. Our Internal Alternative Provision supports pupils with an EHCP five mornings a week, from 9.00am -12.00pm. This role is suitable for someone who would like a part-time position teaching five mornings a week or a full time role is available, carrying out cover duties and interventions in the afternoons. The SEND teacher will be supported in the IAP by two qualified teaching assistants.  The Role: Working as a SEND Teacher within our Internal Alternative Provision, you will: Work closely with the SENCo to ensure the teaching practice, learning support, learning environment and resources for the IAP are of a high standard and conductive to excellent pupil progress. Deliver high‑quality, adaptive teaching that meets the academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs of pupils with SEND Plan and teach engaging lessons ensuring learning objectives are clear, accessible and appropriately challenging Create a structured, calm and nurturing learning environment where pupils feel safe, motivated and ready to learn Use assessment effectively to track progress, inform planning and support reintegration pathways where appropriate Work closely with Teaching Assistants, the SENCO and external professionals to implement EHCP outcomes and personalised support plans Support pupils to develop self‑regulation, independence, resilience and positive learning behaviours Apply trauma‑informed, relational and restorative approaches, recognising that all behaviour is a form of communication Build positive, trusting relationships with parents and carers to ensure consistency and support beyond the classroom Contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting inclusion and pupils’ participation in school activities where appropriate We would love to hear from you if you have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience of, or a strong interest in, teaching pupils with SEND, SEMH or within an alternative provision setting A creative, patient and resilient approach to classroom practice and behaviour support A strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil well‑being A willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice In return for your passion and commitment, we offer: A supportive and values-driven leadership team who place our values of Fa
