Mounts Bay Academy are recruiting for an Art Teacher. We are looking to increase the capacity in our Art Department which is part of the Faculty of Performing Arts and so we are looking to appoint a full time teacher of Art. The successful candidate will have a clear and obvious passion for creativity, problem solving and hands-on learning, inspiring students to explore design and art in a practical way. They will also show a desire to continue achieving the highest standards - the Art department at Mounts Bay Academy has an enviable reputation in the local community and beyond due to the quality of work and outcomes. This must continue to be the case. The successful candidate must have excellent subject knowledge and experience using modern art techniques. A strong commitment to workshop safety is essential to ensure a secure learning environment for all students. They should also be able to support all pupils, irrespective of ability, disadvantage, Key Stage or background. We are a truly inclusive school and this is important to us. Beyond the classroom, we are looking for a teacher who will actively contribute to the faculty of Creative Arts and the wider school community. This may include running extracurricular clubs,or design competitions and to further engage students in the subject. Strong teamwork, enthusiasm, and a willingness to embrace new technologies and sustainable design practices will be key to thriving in this role.
