Part of the Heigham Community Federation   Tel: 01603 441034   Email:   hr@heighamcf.org   Website:   https://www.avenuejuniorschool.org/   Headteacher: Mr M Hooper   NOR: 467     Age range: 7-11years     Salary – MPR 1-6   Permanent   Part Time   0.65 FTE   Required for September 2026 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a teacher with experience of working with children with SEND to take on the position of class teacher for our enhanced specialist provision (Acorns).  The pupils attending Acorns have an ASD profile along with cognition and learning needs and communication and interaction difficulties.  We are immensely proud of this provision and the progress that the children make within it.  As class teacher in Acorns (Enhanced Specialist Provision class), you will plan the learning for the provision and directly teach the children every morning with PPA in excess of the statutory 10%.  You will work with a small team of support staff to meet the individual needs of the pupils, delivering learning aligned with both formal and pre-formal pathways.  Working alongside the SENCO, you will continue to develop the provision, curriculum and inclusive assessment methodologies.  We are seeking to employ someone who:  has a genuine love for children and is committed to their well-being.   is an inclusive practitioner and has the belief in the ability of all students to achieve highly and a commitment to raising pupils’ progress, acknowledging that this will look different for different children.  is an excellent teacher with high expectations of their own work as well as children’s work and behaviour.   can inspire to be the best that they can be.   is committed to the whole life of our school and is willing to offer extracurricular activities.   can communicate well with all members of our school community and can engage and lead their team effectively.  is committed to self-improvement through engaging proactively with professional development.  Avenue Junior School is a large Junior School located in central Norwich.
