Are you looking to make a difference every day?
Lift Kingswood is growing, and to support our continued growth we are seeking a confident, proactive, and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged in learning and that classroom expectations are upheld.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a future career in teaching, education, or youth work, or for those with strong classroom management skills who enjoy working with young people
You're someone who'll be able to:
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes across the school in the absence of the teacher. * Ensure students remain on task and follow the school's behaviour expectations. * Manage the classroom environment to support positive behaviour and effective learning. * Provide feedback to the relevant teacher about lesson progress, behaviour, or issues arising. * Supervise students during non-class time when required (e.g., registration, breaks, exams). * Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain the safety and wellbeing of all students. * Assist with administrative tasks or learning support activities when cover is not required.
You're someone who has:
* A minimum of GCSE 4/ C (or equivalent) in English and Maths. * An A level (s) (or equivalent) within other subjects. * Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to young people. * Confidence in managing a classroom and maintaining order. * Ability to follow lesson plans and deliver instructions clearly. * Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. * Reliable, punctual, and able to use initiative. * Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
About the school:
Lift Kingswood is a national beacon of educational excellence. We are a school where our students perform well above the national average across all subjects; placing the school as one of the highest performing schools in the region.
Lift Kingswood is thrilled to celebrate its recent Ofsted report, where the school was recognised for its Outstanding provision for personal development, behaviour and safety and leadership and management; a reflection of the relentless dedication, hard work, and ambition of the entire school community. The inspection also highlighted the school's exceptional achievements in fostering a rich, dynamic learning environment where both pupils and staff thrive.
Candidates are encouraged to look at this post as a 3 year development pathway to the next stage of their career rather than limited to a 'Cover Supervisor' post.
