High View School in Plymouth is seeking a caring, motivated and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This role will focus on supporting pupils across Early Years and Key Stage 1, including 1:1 work, small group interventions, and supporting pupils with additional needs across the classroom. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be committed to supporting pupilโs learning and to help pupils surpass their expectations. High View School are seeking candidates that will go the extra mile for our children and the community. Key Responsibilities: Supporting and nurturing pupils with SEND, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with class teachers and the SENCo to deliver high-quality, targeted interventions. Delivering planned teaching and learning activities, adapting them as needed to meet individual pupil needs. Monitoring and recording pupil progress, and providing feedback to both teachers and pupils. Collaborating with external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists. Key Skills: Has at least one year of experience working in a primary school setting. Holds an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (Level 3 desirable). Has GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent. Has recent experience in EYFS and/or Key Stage 1, ideally in a setting with a high number of pupils with additional needs. Is confident supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small group basis. Has excellent communication skills and strong emotional intelligence. Is proactive, flexible, and a true team player. Understands safeguarding, inclusion, and the importance of promoting positive mental health in young children.
