Your new role The role of the Second in English is to support the Head of English to lead and manage the department, thereby ensuring that all teachers are in a position to provide all students with an excellent education. You will not only be an excellent practitioner, but you will also be able to effectively lead, coach, and support others to be excellent teachers too. You will support the Head of English to fulfil the department vision, to design and deliver a curriculum that is stimulating and engaging for students, and to implement department wide strategies to ensure all students enjoy and excel within the subject.

As part of Lift Schools, we have set the ambitious goal of 90% of our students achieving a good pass in English and Mathematics by 2028, and to continue the year-on-year rise in the number of students achieving the highest grades. It is this success that will allow every young person who attends this school to access the most ambitious future as they enter adulthood.
