About the role

As a Teaching Assistant supporting children with complex needs, you will work closely with teachers and senior staff to provide targeted support for pupils with learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social, or physical disabilities. Your role will be crucial in: Supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including autism and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Assisting with individual education and behaviour plans tailored to each child’s needs. Promoting inclusion, independence, and emotional well-being. Helping pupils access learning through small group or one-to-one support. Assisting with personal care, communication, and social development. Providing basic first aid and administering medication in line with Trust policies. Supporting classroom management and creating a positive learning environment. About you We are seeking someone who is: Compassionate and patient, with a genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs. Confident in communicating effectively with pupils, teachers, and families. Knowledgeable about child development, SEND, and relevant educational policies. Able to work both independently and as a valued member of a team. Flexible and adaptable, ready to meet the evolving needs of our schools. Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Willing to engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills. A Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience is essential, alongside experience working with children who have additional needs.
