Weldon Village Academy Β· Corby, East Midlands
Salary: MPS/UPS We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic part time Teacher of Music (there is flexibility for number of days) to join our growing school, which opened in September 2023. This post would be suitable for an Early Careers Teacher; however we welcome applications from more experienced teachers too. This is a unique opportunity to play a key part in adapting and developing a dynamic music curriculum that will inspire our students and to play a part in how music benefits the whole school. We will only have approximately 650 students next year, across Years 7-11, but we will eventually grow to become a school of 1500 students, including a 6th form of 300. The ideal candidate should be motivated, flexible and an innovative and inspiring classroom teacher; someone with vision and an unshakeable passion for teaching students the fundamentals of business. Music has proven to be a popular option with our students, and we only envisage this growing as the department grows and thrives. We recently performed our first ever school musical, βMatildaβ, which was a huge success, and have competitions such as House Music, trying to engage as many students as possible in the joy of music. We run a three year KS4 so students choose music as an option to study in Year 9 and beyond. The successful candidate will also need to teach some lessons in another KS3 curriculum subject, at least in the first year. The successful candidate will have an uncompromising commitment to student achievement with a mind-set that all young people can experience success.
