Annual Salary: £35,852 - £39,679 (Grade E) based on full time hours, all year round Contract Type : Permanent, Full Time, Term Time only

Deputy SENCo opportunity at our busy secondary academy in Weston super Mare:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Deputy SENCo to join our SEND team to support our pupils and wider department, working in a team on two Deputy SENCo’s led by our Assistant Principal for inclusion the leadership and management of our SEND provision. In this pivotal role, you will assist in ensuring high-quality learning support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping to drive excellence in teaching, resource use, and student outcomes.
You will play a key part in meeting the individual needs of designated students, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and delivering measurable improvements in both academic attainment and personal development. As Deputy SENCo, you will also take on leadership responsibilities in the SENCo’s absence, contributing to a culture of inclusion and achievement across the Academy.
You will:
Possess relevant NVQ level 3 in education and/or SEN (such as Learning and Development and Support Services for Children, Young People, and Those who Care for Them, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) or equivalent qualification/ experience.
Have good working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes
Be experienced in working effectively with SEND students, students with additional needs and/or disabilities on an individual basis or in groups.
Have great organisational skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
Hold good working knowledge of IT, ability to use internet effectively and knowledge of Management Information Systems (MIS).
Have the emotional resilience to handle difficult and challenging situations.
