We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our dedicated team. You will teach a small class of learners, delivering creative, inclusive lessons as part of our Entitlement Curriculum. Working with a team of Teaching Assistants, you will nurture independence, communication, and confidence, helping every pupil to achieve their potential. Applicants should hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and demonstrate a passion for supporting pupils with additional learning needs. Experience in special education or training such as Trauma-Informed Practice, PECS,Signalong, or Thrive would be an advantage but is not essential. We welcome applications from teachers in both mainstream and specialist settings.
The post holder will be expected to: β’ Teach pupils across all age ranges and with a variety of special educational needs, delivering engaging and
differentiated learning experiences in line with the schoolβs adapted National Curriculum (Entitlement Curriculum). β’ Plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality teaching, learning, and interventions to meet individual pupil needs. β’ Assess, record, and report on pupil progress, attainment, and achievements in accordance with school policy and
statutory requirements. β’ Take responsibility for a designated class, including pastoral care, behaviour management, and wellbeing. β’ Lead and manage a team of Teaching Assistants and support staff to ensure effective support for pupil learning and
development. β’ Liaise and collaborate with parents, carers, and multi-agency professionals to support pupil progress and welfare. β’ Promote equality, inclusion, and diversity within all aspects of school life. β’ Safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils, adhering to statutory and school safeguarding procedures. β’ Contribute to whole-school development, curriculum improvement, and the wider organisation of the school. β’ Maintain accurate planning and assessment records, prepare reports (including IEPs, EHCPs, and Behaviour Plans), and
set appropriate learning targets. β’ Ensure the safe organisation and supervision of pupils during lessons, activities, and educational visits. β’ Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school initiatives to support continuous improvement. β’ Take responsibility for pupilsβ health and safety, reporting any concerns to the Headteacher. β’ Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Headteacher to support the effective operation of the
school.
