About the role

We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Head of Pastoral Support to play a central role in shaping our school’s pastoral culture. This is a pivotal non‑teaching leadership post, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to promote positive behaviour for learning, strong safeguarding practice and high‑quality pastoral support for all students. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership for a team of five non‑teaching Heads of Year, ensuring consistent, high‑impact pastoral provision across the school. You will champion the school’s values, model professional integrity and apply sound judgement when managing complex pastoral situations, ensuring every student is supported to thrive both personally and academically. About the School Our school serves the communities of Poynton, Disley, Adlington and the surrounding areas and sits at the heart of local learning. We are a large and inclusive school with around 1,500 students in Years 7 to 13, including a successful Sixth Form offering a wide range of A‑level courses. We pride ourselves on strong academic outcomes, high expectations and a culture where individuality is valued, relationships matter and all students are encouraged to fulfil their potential. The role will include: Leading and developing a strong pastoral culture aligned to whole‑school priorities Providing inspirational leadership and line management to Heads of Year Overseeing behaviour systems, internal suspension, detentions and reintegration processes Working closely with safeguarding, SEND and inclusion teams to support vulnerable students Building effective partnerships with families, external agencies and governors This role is ideal for a confident, values‑driven pastoral leader who is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and building a safe, aspirational school community. A driving licence and access to a vehicle is required as this role includes regular home visits and working closely with local schools and our Trust schools which span Cheshire and Derbyshire.
