Salary: £24,796, BG4, N3 Actual Salary: £4,299 Contract: Part Time / Permanent Hours: 11.45 am to 1.15 pm, Monday to Friday, 7.5 Weekly Hours Closing date: 27 April 2026 Interview date: 1 May 2026 Purpose: As a Lunchtime Assistant, you will ensure that all pupils are well-supervised and safe while providing the guidance and encouragement they need to enjoy a healthy meal. You will be skilled at initiating play and lead engaging activities that help children enjoy their break times, ensuring they return to their classrooms relaxed and ready for afternoon learning. You will share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child, acting in their best interests and maintaining a practical approach to their wellbeing. You will work closely with a supportive school team to suggest and implement new ways to improve lunchtimes, communicate effectively with colleagues about pupil progress, and bring a professional and positive approach to every aspect of the school day. Duties (further details in the attached application pack): Accompany pupils from their classrooms to the dining halls in a safe and orderly manner. Supervise pupils while they eat and provide the encouragement and time needed for them to finish a healthy cooked meal or packed lunch. Lead and initiate play activities and games both outside and indoors during wet play to ensure children are engaged and safe. Suggest and implement new ways to improve the efficiency and standards of pupils' lunchtimes. Respond to behaviour concerns in line with the school policy and report any relevant issues regarding eating or conduct to the appropriate staff member. Administer first aid or carry out intimate care where appropriate and in accordance with school policies. Operate at all times in the best interests of the pupils while complying with trust policies regarding safeguarding and health and safety.
