About the role

Director of Pastoral Permanent / Full Time (Monday - Friday 36.66 hours per week) Start Date: As soon as possible Salary: Points 25-29 £36,363 - £39,862 FTE. Actual Salary £33,853.95 - £37,111.52 per annum, 42 weeks per year (which includes 15 working days during school holiday periods) The Role: This is a key position leading the year managers to ensure that the academy has a strong sense of belonging for our students, leading to high levels of discipline, mutual care and respect and improved levels of attendance and punctuality. The role involves line managing six pastoral managers and leading key parts of the academy’s improvement plan. Hathershaw College The Hathershaw College is a very successful and oversubscribed 11-16 Academy within the Pinnacle Learning Trust. We are a good school with a group of very talented teachers and staff who set high standards and expectations for our children. We have a strong training and CPD programme (supported by The Pinnacle Learning Trust Research School), which offers opportunities to develop your skills. It also acknowledges the work we have done to support staff wellbeing, stating: “Staff value the steps that leaders have taken to ease their workload and support their well-being.” In our annual staff survey, colleagues valued the communication from leaders, in particular how often leaders consult with staff before making decisions that affect them, where the positive response rate was 14% above national benchmark.
