Specialist Teacher (ASC/MLD) September 2026 Deer Park School is a new state of the art seven-form secondary school which opened in September 2021. At present there are just under 1,000 students on roll across Year 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11. We are part of the RAISE Education Trust which comprises of Deer Park Secondary School, Wildern Secondary School and Boorley Park Primary School. We will have a PAN of 1050 when full. Are you an inspirational teacher looking to make a difference for pupils with SEND? Deer Park School is seeking a dedicated ASC/MLD specialist or primary trained KS2 teacher with suitable experience to lead, design and deliver high quality learning experiences for students through our new resourced provision opening to students in September 2026 as well as delivering lessons in the main school. The successful candidate will also work to guide staff and share expertise in supporting the needs of students with SEND needs across the school. We are seeking an innovative, reflective and inclusive practitioner who will join us in shaping and growing this new provision in an exciting chapter for the school and its students. The Role Working as a specialist teacher, you will: Work closely with the SENCO to ensure the teaching practice, learning support and learning environment for the resourced provision effectively supports our students. Design and implement an innovative and engaging curriculum for the resourced provision which is conducive to excellent pupil progress allowing students to access the national curriculum, Education for Life curriculum and activities that promote well-being and belonging. Ensure systems are in place to effectively assess studentβs academic and personal progress. Deliver high-quality, adaptive teaching tailored to the complex sensory and communication needs of our pupils, ensuring Maths, English, and the wider curriculum are accessible and engaging. Work with the RP manager to establish and maintain a structured, calm and nurturing learning environment where children feel secure, are motivated to learn and able to thrive. Advocate for the needs of pupils with SEND needs across the wider school through delivery of lessons in the mainstream, acting as an advocate to RP students and working with teachers to refine their inclusive and adaptive practices across the school. Work with the RP manager to support the intake of new pupils into the centre and support in the management of transition processes for pupils moving on to secondary education or other provisions.
