Kennall Vale School ยท Truro, South West
Thank you for showing an interest in applying for a position at our school. Welcome to Kennall Vale School โ a small village Primary school serving Ponsanooth near Truro. We are on the A393 Redruth โ Falmouth road, close to the Kennall Vale Nature reserve, a picturesque river valley containing the remains of Kennall Vale Gunpowder Works. Kennall Vale School opened in new, purpose built premises in 1993 and, since then, has been extended and completely refurbished. The school has 5 classrooms, and at present 132 pupils on roll organised into mixed-age classes. Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, together with Kennall Vale School, are seeking to appoint a dynamic and committed Class Teacher to work as part of our team. The real strength of the school lies in the people; staff, children, parents and Local Monitoring Committee members are proud of our school and work hard to provide a caring and stimulating environment for learning. At Kennall Vale, we value the wellbeing of the children in our care above all else. We aim to create a happy, safe, caring environment in which every child can succeed and do their best. To this end we constantly strive to improve by keeping up to date with the very best ideas in teaching and learning and providing a fun place to learn. About You: We are looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team at Kennall Vale School to support the provision of children with SEND as well as the rest of the class. The role is a fixed-term contract to August 2027; it is 31.25 hours a week, 8:30am-15:15pm, Monday - Friday. We are seeking to appoint a person who is enthusiastic, hardworking and committed to the ethos of Kennall Vale School. The role is primarily to support the delivery of provision as set out in children's Individual Education Plans and Educational Health Care plans. Experience of working within Primary education is essential and recent knowledge and skills in areas of SEND such as Speech and Language and Cognition and Learning is desirable. Developing a positive and nurturing relationship with all children is key, so the successful candidate will be warm, child-centred and know how to get the best out of the young people they are working with.
