Teacher of History (maternity cover)

Plymouth High School for Girls is seeking to appoint a part time Teacher of History (maternity cover)to join our team on a fixed term basis from September 2026. This role involves the opportunity to teach motivated students and contribute to a supportive learning environment.You will deliver engaging, high‑quality History lessons that inspire curiosity, promote analytical thinking and foster a love of learning.Working within a collaborative Humanities department,you will contribute to a shared commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for all students.The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping students' wider educational experience, supporting their personal development and encouraging them to be confident, independent learners. What you will need to succeed: A qualified teacher with QTS. Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured History lessons that support strong student progress. Be passionate about teaching and learning and transforming the life chances of our students. Be an aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities.
