Job Purpose: Actively supporting the vision and ethos of Park High School, the post holder will ensure a strong culture of behaviour and attendance in the Year Group by promoting our Character Virtues and delivering a pastoral curriculum which teaches students the values and expectations of Park High School. To lead a culture of recognition within the Year Group by implementing consistent systems for rewarding positive behaviour, attendance, character virtues and academic effort; ensuring that individual and collective achievements are regularly celebrated, shared with families, and used to motivate students to aspire to excellence. To lead a Year Team of Tutors (as allocated by the Headteacher) and a Pastoral Support Assistant (PSA) in ensuring that students are supported and enabled to succeed in all aspects of their school life, maximising their chances for high levels of attainment and progress and monitoring and securing their safety, progress and overall well-being. With the Headteacher and other senior staff, to support the leadership, development, monitoring and implementation of all whole school policies and procedures primarily within, but also beyond, the Year Group. Leading students in the Year Group Take responsibility for securing consistently high standards of behaviour across the Year Group by reinforcing the agreed expectations relating to uniform, conduct, attendance and punctuality. Foster positive behaviour and character development by recognising and celebrating studentsβ achievements, ensuring an inclusive approach that values and highlights a broad range of accomplishments. Support the safeguarding of young people by identifying risks and supporting appropriate intervention and referral, as well as facilitating opportunities for safeguarding learning (Year Team and students). Identify, monitor and provide expert support for βat-riskβ and vulnerable students, working effectively with other staff to maximise appropriate support and intervention. In conjunction with the SENDCo, ensuring that the transfer process from primary school is managed effectively (if allocated Year 7), or induction for mid-year admissions with an identified need. Ensuring high levels of visibility around the school site and visiting lessons regularly to ensure a high standard of behaviour and learning.
