About the Role
Goffs-Churchgate Academy is seeking a passionate and
dedicated Teacher of PE to join our team on a maternity cover basis starting in
September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly

The successful candidate will play a key role in inspiring
and motivating students to achieve their full potential in PE, while
contributing to the wider life of the school. You will have access to

professional sprung floor, and a dance studio, all within a modern and
professional working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan
and deliver engaging and well-structured PE lessons to students across Key
Stages 3 and 4.
Assess,
monitor, and report on student progress, ensuring all students are
supported to achieve their best.
Prepare
students for qualifications and external examinations.
Manage
classroom behaviour effectively to create a safe and positive learning
environment.
Participate
in extracurricular activities, including sports fixtures and events.
Collaborate
with colleagues to develop innovative teaching resources and strategies.
Undertake
pastoral duties, such as acting as a form tutor and supporting students
with academic or personal challenges.
Contribute
to the development and implementation of school policies and practices.
Requirements
Qualified
Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree relevant to PE.
Proven
experience teaching PE across Key Stages 3 and 4 with good or outstanding
outcomes (or strong observations for Early Career Teachers).
A
passion for teaching and learning in PE, with the ability to inspire and
challenge students.
Excellent
organisational skills, time management, and the ability to use data
effectively to inform planning.
Strong
interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork.
A
positive, can-do attitude and a belief in the right of every student to
fulfil their potential.
